Everybody needs clean, fresh water. Without it, we would die in three days. But in many parts of the world, clean water is rare. Millions of women and children in developing¹ countries have to walk a long way to bring home a few liters of dirty water. All over the world, billions of people use rivers for washing and drinking. Then they become ill² and can’t work. Then they have no money to buy food.

Here are the facts.

1. Over 2 billion people don’t have clean water.

2. 80% of the world’s illnesses come from dirty water.

3. 50% of the people in hospitals are there because of “dirty water” illnesses.

4. Polluted water kills more than 2.5 million people every year.
